Meacham is a fictitious layout based on a small town in Derbyshire. It consists of a through station, a branch line, a goods yard and a factory siding. It has been designed and built by the N gauge members of the Leamington & Warwick MRC over the last five years.
While originally built to reflect the last days of steam the varied collection of stock and interests of members has meant that we have tried to design it so that it would not b out of place in any period from the 50s to the early 90s.
We like to operate it with changes of locos and stock as the day progresses reflecting the passing of time and try to make appropriate changes where possible in the infrastructure, especially of vehicles. One future plan is to develop the goods yard into a supermarket by dropping a building over the existing tracks as we move into the late 60s.
