The O guage group are currently constructing a new large oval layout - for details visit Kimble
The previous layout is detailed below:
To look at our layout now you wouldn't believe that it was once up for sale because of lack of interest. In its original form it appears in the Gauge "O" Guild small layout booklet (volume 2) under the name of Deepwell. But now after a lot of hard work by the members (everyone's done something) we now have a smashing little layout that might even join the exhibition circuit.
The layout itself is quite basic, all the track work is Peco (adjusted so even old lima stock can be run), the buildings and signals are either scratch built or kit bashed, the scenery is bits of anything we could get our hands on and the electrics are a mystery!
Most members have their own stock to run and as everyone seems to favour different regions and eras, Mallory Road can be anywhere and any time. So come along and run whatever you want.
The scene is an end of branch Industrial backwater where the factories and warehouses change in moments, depending on what stock is running at the time. Therefore lots of shunting is the order of the day, although a limited passenger service for workers and the local population is run from our small station.
So if you want to really enjoy model railways come and join our merry band. Even if you've never done any modelling before don't be put off, we'll make you very welcome!
