Leamington & Warwick Model Railway Society started life on 20th February 1975 when 18 keen modellers met at Milverton Village Hall. At that time it was known as Milverton Model Railway Society, a name it bore until November 1976 when it changed to its current name upon obtaining new premises in Warwick. The "2C" in the LWMRS logo is the BR code for the Warwick (ex-LNWR) shed at Milverton.

It then moved to a basement in Leamington Spa which it occupied until 1997 when it moved to large club rooms on a farm just outside Leamington. We have now moved into spacious new clubrooms just outside Leamington Spa which provide over 3,500 sq ft for layouts, discussion area, library and kitchen.

The first exhibition was held in September 1976 in the Baptist Church Hall, Leamington. The exhibition has been held annually since then and the next show will be in the Stoneleigh Exhibition Centre, where the show is held in January.

Our first club members layout featured in the modelling press was in the Railway Modeller in 1977.
