A working party organised by society president, Brian Parker, took place down at the clubhouse on Sunday 3rd of July to sort out the crowd barriers.

After some investigation it was worked out that of the (at least) four generations of barriers, only the legs from the original set of barriers fit into the beams of those barriers. Most of the other legs and beams are interchangeable.

To help putting up the barriers in future the undersides of the original barrier beams have been marked with red paint, and the feet of the legs that fit them have also been marked in red paint.

In addition

  • The remainder of the most recent set of barrier beams have now been varnished
  • More barriers have had the labels advertising the society attacked to the top of the beams
  • A small number of beams, and a slightly larger number of legs have been identified as needing repairs, and have been separated from the rest.
Most of the barriers are being hired by Hornby Magazine for their Hornby Magazine Live event at Hartlepool on 9th-10th July.
Thanks to all who helpde with the work on the barriers.
