Having completed our EM layout Walford Town, we began thinking about our next project. Many of the group were already modelling P4, and there was a general consensus that the new club layout should be to these standards. In contrast to Walford Town, a steam era layout was preferred, and a period of circa 1908 had general support. However, there the agreement ended. The great diversity of interest amongst the members was such that no one railway company was of interest to more than one or two of us.

Duxbury is the OO gauge club layout of the L&WMRS. As such, it designed to keep a large number of operators busy whilst providing a continuous circuit for members who wish to test locomotives and rolling stock.

To look at our layout now you wouldn't believe that it was once up for sale because of lack of interest. In its original form it appears in the Gauge "O" Guild small layout booklet (volume 2) under the name of Deepwell. But now after a lot of hard work by the members (everyone's done something) we now have a smashing little layout that might even join the exhibition circuit.

Meacham is based on a ficticious small town in Derbyshire. It consists of a through station, a branch line, a goods yard and a factory siding. It has been designed and built by the N gauge members of the Leamington & Warwick MRS over the last ten years.
