DCC Open Day
The club is arranging a DCC Open day sometime in May.
We will have a OO layout ( Duxbury) and an O gauge layout ( Kimble ) which will both be running under DCC control.
Duxbury will be using a Lenz system 90 with a variety of handheld controllers and Kimble uses a ZTC system.
Duxbury will use DCC to drive the trains in conjunction with our control panel to control points and signals.
Kimble uses DCC to control both the trains and the points plus they have sound chipped locos, so you will be able to hear and discuss DCC Sound.
Plus we hope to be able to demonstrate the use of a PC running DecoderPro, a free Java application written by the JMRI group that makes the setting up and tuning of loco decoders much easier.
So if you are interested in DCC then please feel free to come along and see how it works, ask us questions and hopefully encourage you to take that first step.
Watch this space for a confirmed date and other details.
To register an interest or ask questions please contact Martin Head

Welcome to the LWMRS's new website.
The site has been launched now in time to promote the society's 2010 exhibition, and so we have initially concentrated on content related to the exhibition. Links are being produced to older content, which will be moved across as time allows.

Leamington and Warwick Model Railway Society has over 70 members mainly from South Warwickshire but several come from much further afield. We moved into a spacious new club rooms just outside Leamington Spa in April 2006 which provides over 3,500 sq ft for layouts, discussion area, library and kitchen. We are currently cataloguing our extensive collection of magazines, journals, books and photographs for use by the membership and outside visitors.

Leamington & Warwick Model Railway Society started life on 20th February 1975 when 18 keen modellers met at Milverton Village Hall. At that time it was known as Milverton Model Railway Society, a name it bore until November 1976 when it changed to its current name upon obtaining new premises in Warwick. The "2C" in the LWMRS logo is the BR code for the Warwick (ex-LNWR) shed at Milverton.
